FreedomPop Also Unveils New IoT Connectivity Plans Starting at $1/Month to Connect Internet-Connected Devices

LOS ANGELES, CA – MARCH XX, 2017 – One of the world’s fastest growing mobile service providers, FreedomPop, today launched the first free phone service for small businesses. FreedomPop’s free plan for small businesses offers unlimited talk and text, plus 2 GB of shared data for the first two users on the plan. Businesses with more robust data needs can purchase more data starting at $10/GB.

The new plans benefit small businesses, which require basic mobile services but are forced to pay for larger, more expensive data packages with other carriers. The average small business phone service customer only uses approximately 600 MB of data each month, meaning many are significantly overpaying for standard mobile services.  The major wireless carriers currently offer unlimited plans starting at $60, and these plans increase with each new phone line added. Conversely, FreedomPop’s plan offers small businesses unlimited talk and text, plus 2 GB of free data for the plan’s first two wireless lines.

“We’ve had literally thousands of small businesses reach out to FreedomPop the past couple years asking for more affordable wireless solutions,” said Steven Sesar, FreedomPop’s COO. “With carriers focused on increasing data allotments versus dropping price, we are happy to meet that demand starting today. Our new solution can save small businesses more than $2,000 per year.”

In addition, FreedomPop is also launching the world’s lowest cost Internet of Things connectivity solution for IoT players requiring cellular connectivity. IoT devices can now connect to FreedomPop’s global wireless network starting at $1 per month. Comparable solutions from Verizon start at around $50 per month, plus those solutions lack the flexibility and customization afforded by FreedomPop’s IoT plan.

“With all the innovation happening in the IoT space, we felt it was necessary to offer a low cost and flexible solution for connectivity to help spur new devices and innovation,” said Mason Chu, Head of IoT Connectivity, FreedomPop. “Today’s solutions are cumbersome and expensive which limits the ability for smaller IoT players to deliver cellular connected devices.”
